How to get a finished file out of Imposio once your imposition looks right.

Export to PDF

For most press workflows, export an imposed PDF. The output keeps your sheet layout, marks and bleed, ready to send to the printer or RIP.

Save as image

For RIPs and workflows that expect rasters, use Save as image. Imposio renders the pages to:

  • TIFF — single-page and multi-page (the whole job in one file)
  • PNG
  • JPEG (with a quality setting)
  • WebP (with a quality setting)

Resolution

Set the DPI to match your output device. The default is 300 DPI — raise it for high-quality print, lower it for proofs. Higher DPI means larger files and longer processing.

Page area

Choose which PDF box defines the exported image area:

  • MediaBox — the full sheet
  • CropBox
  • BleedBox — includes bleed
  • TrimBox — the finished trim

If a chosen box isn't defined in the PDF, Imposio falls back to the MediaBox.

File naming

When exporting many pages to separate files, use the filename pattern with placeholders ({p} = the PDF page number, {n} = an output counter) so files sort and match the job. Multi-page TIFF is a single file, so patterns don't apply there.

Tips

  • Keep a naming convention (job, sheet, side) so files are easy to track at the press.
  • Proof the exported file — open it and check page order, marks and bleed before printing.
